In flexographic printing and film lamination, roller temperature directly determines the quality of the final product: ink transfer, drying, adhesion between layers and the dimensional stability of the material all depend on keeping each cylinder at its exact working point. That is why more and more manufacturers of printing and laminating lines rely on MARSE temperature control units for the thermal control of their machines.
Precise thermal control on every roller
A laminator or flexographic press has several points that need different temperatures: laminating rollers, calender cylinders, drying zones or chill rollers. Each circuit is served by its own temperature control unit, so the temperature of each zone can be adjusted independently and react quickly to changes in speed, material or adhesive.

Integrated units, controlled from the main machine
In this installation, the temperature control units are controlled by external signals integrated into the main machine. The printing or laminating machine sends the setpoints, starts and stops each unit and receives its status and alarms. That is why the units have no display or control panel of their own: they don't need one, because the operator manages the whole line from a single HMI, the machine's.
This approach brings clear advantages to the machine builder and the end user:
- A single point of control: temperatures, start-up and alarms are managed from the line's screen, with no duplicated interfaces.
- Complete recipes: the temperature of each roller is part of each job's recipe, together with speed, tension or adhesive.
- Fewer operating errors: nobody changes setpoints at the unit; the main machine is in charge.
- Cleaner, more compact integration: with no screens to protect and no accessible controls, the units are installed next to the machine or inside its frame.
- Centralised diagnostics: the status of each temperature control unit is displayed and logged in the line's system.

Custom versions for machine builders
MARSE has been manufacturing its equipment in Spain since 1978 and adapts each temperature control unit to the application: with display and local control to work standalone, or without display and governed by the main machine through external signals and communication with the line control. This way, the machine builder integrates temperature control as just another part of its equipment, with MARSE reliability and technical service.
